Sophisticated Whole-Condo Renovation in Washington, DC

Homeowner Challenge:

The owners of this chic and sophisticated condo had recently sold a house that they built in Utah, and they wanted their home in Washington, DC to have a similar feel to it. They weren’t sure of how to implement this vision, and they knew that it would be a challenge to translate the design elements of their Park City home into practical condo features. In addition, they wanted each part of their new home to have a defined area without being entirely closed off, which would require some wall reconfiguration.

The BOWA Solution:

To make the dining room feel like its own space, BOWA’s In-House Design Team helped incorporate a custom slat wall with wooden detail. To accommodate the owners’ art pieces, BOWA field engineered a floating glass shelf that provides definition without interrupting light flow. In a continued effort to maximize natural light, while renovating the office area, open space was created above the cabinetry. The updated kitchen contains the same dark colored cabinetry, giving the overall space a cohesive design full of warmth and contrast. In the new primary bath, there is a spacious glass shower and a spa-style soaking tub surrounded by wooden detail. The owners are now able to enjoy the perks of condo living in the city while always being reminded of their Park City home.
