Phased Interior and Exterior Renovation in Great Falls, VA

Homeowner Challenge:

When the homeowners purchased this home built in 1999, they knew they’d want to renovate to make this builder-grade home their own. The finishes and designs of the bathrooms were dated, and the rear yard area around the existing pool needed a facelift so they could better entertain guests and fix drainage issues. While the home had a great foundation, the homeowners knew a renovation could really enhance the design and their enjoyment of the property.

The BOWA Solution:

With an understanding of the homeowner’s complete “wish list”, BOWA developed a phased approach to the renovation of three bathrooms, laundry room, and existing pool area, as well as the addition of a new deck and screened in porch. The luxurious master bathroom now features a freestanding tub as the focal point, a dramatic tray ceiling created by dropping the ceiling and custom arched vanity niches. The updated rear yard includes a circular seating area surrounding a firepit, new tile decking around the pool, and fresh landscaping. Also, key changes were made to the drainage system to help keep water away from the home. The last phase of the project was the addition of a screened-in porch and new deck with access to the pool. All the projects focused on making the home more efficient for this family’s every-day use and entertaining needs.

Project Highlights:

  • Arched ceiling accents in master bathroom vanities niches
  • Extensive work in master bathroom to create tray ceiling
  • More storage solutions added to laundry room
  • Additional entertaining space added to pool area
