Luxury Whole House Renovation in McLean, VA

Homeowner Challenge:

When these homeowners in McLean were ready to take on a luxury whole-house renovation, they called on BOWA’s experts to bring their vision to life. The home’s existing layout consisted of a disorganized floorplan with oddly shaped rooms, and they desired a more open floorplan with a contemporary aesthetic. Despite being drawn to a modern and minimalist style, the owners wanted their home to still feel cozy and welcoming. For the front entrance in particular, the vision involved making a significant impression as guests walk through the door. The overall goal was to transform each room into a chic, yet comfortable space and for the layout of the house to have better flow.

The BOWA Solution:

To navigate away from the old layout, walls were reconfigured to open up space on both floors. The kitchen was extended and now benefits from large waterfall countertops and abundant storage space surrounding the refrigerator. The new dining room features a luxurious wet bar with floating shelves, built-in lighting, and a textured backsplash. Electric fireplaces with LED lighting were incorporated into both the living room and office area to create the ideal setting for both relaxation and productivity. Architectural solutions were implemented that allow the front entrance to flood with sunlight during the day and open up to a stylish staircase. Upstairs, the primary bath has transformed into a spa-like oasis. Despite the modern features, warm-toned wood, tile, and other finishes help to maintain a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. These BOWA clients feel much more at home following this whole-house renovation, and they can’t wait to share the magic with their friends and family!
