Chamber also recognizes BOWA Principal Steve Kirstein as “Business Person of the Year”
McLean, Va. — BOWA (www.bowa.com), a home transformation company specializing in the design and construction of large-scale additions and renovations, and Steve Kirstein, principal, were named the 2011 “Business of the Year” and “Business Person of the Year” by the Potomac Chamber of Commerce. Kirstein and BOWA will be recognized at this year’s Potomac Day Parade to be held on October 22, 2011 and at a Chamber Awards Dinner in November.
“It is a great honor to be recognized by the Potomac Chamber of Commerce for our hard work and involvement in the Potomac community,” said Steve Kirstein, principal of BOWA. “BOWA works hard to contribute to local charities and gives back to the community wherever possible. Sponsoring community events such as the Autism Speaks 5K Run and One-Mile Walk as well as Potomac Day with this Chamber has been especially rewarding.”
As a long-time Potomac, Maryland resident, Kirstein is a member and past officer of the Potomac Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, BOWA once again served as the presenting sponsor for the 11th Annual Autism Speaks 5K Run and One-Mile Walk on Monday, July 4 in Potomac. Kirstein acted as the Sponsorship Chair, raising a record-setting $270,000.
“Staying active in the greater Washington, DC community is very important to BOWA and our employees,” said Josh Baker, founder of BOWA. “Even in a challenging economy, we proudly continue to support the outreach efforts of non-profits, schools and other organizations. We also encourage other businesses to do the same and help meet the needs of our neighbors.”
