Celebrating 35 Years of BOWA!

It all started in 1988 when two college friends, Larry Weinberg and Josh Baker, set out to follow their shared dream of starting their own business. Fast forward to 2023, and we are officially celebrating 35 years of BOWA! Throughout our incredible journey, we’ve remained committed to helping families – clients and employees alike – improve their lives at home.

Out of all our completed projects in the last 35 years, 80% of BOWA’s work has come from returning clients and referrals. “The first time I heard we were doing a project for the third generation of a client’s family, it felt like a true honor,” said Larry. “While it certainly made me feel old, it has been so special to develop such long-term relationships with our clients.”

Our clients’ satisfaction remains one of BOWA’s greatest measures of success, and we continue to be humbled by comments and reviews such as these:

In our history, BOWA has been honored with more than 270 awards for business, design, and construction excellence, including being named “National Remodeler of the Year” by Professional Remodeler magazine, “Best Remodeling Firm” by Bethesda Magazine, and “Largest Whole House Remodeler” by Qualified Remodeler magazine. BOWA’s success can largely be attributed to our culture of continuous improvement, proven processes, and growing growing team of passionate and committed experts.

“We’ve developed into a truly remarkable team here at BOWA”, said BOWA President and Chief Financial Officer, David Brandt. “We now have almost 100 employees, several of whom have been with us since the beginning. Our average tenure is over 8 years and one-quarter of our team has been with us more than twice that! Our clients benefit from this type of commitment, and I’m proud of the strong culture we’ve created.”

From our first deck addition to our most recent whole-house renovation, so much has changed – including the quality of our employee swag!
